It is not often that you can find something that is easy on the pocket book, environmentally friendly, and which just might be vital for your own well being.  That, however. is exactly what you have with the various “no battery” flashlights that are now on the market.  Whether it be a shake light, a squeeze light, a crank light, or a solar light; these flashlights all provide you with a reliable source of lighting during an emergency.

They tend to be economically priced, but that is not the only advantage.  Since no batteries are required, they are ready to work when you need them, wherever you need them.  With a life expectancy of 100,000 hours, that is a lot of lighting capability.

Then consider the following:

  1. The only price you pay is the purchase price.  Never needing batteries, you never need to buy batteries.  The savings soon add up, especially if you are using your flashlight on a regular basis.
  2. Batteries are not good for the environment.  They are considered a hazardous waste when it comes to the disposing of them.  No batteries means you will not be contributing to a landfill problem.
  3. With a no battery light source you are not going to be restricted to a few hours of usefulness.  You are not going to need worry about leaking, corroded batteries that aren’t ready to work when you need them to work.  An emergency is no time to discover that you are without an emergency light source.

So, yes, these flashlights can save you money.  They can help save the environment.  They can even have the potential of saving your life.  They are worth considering.
